July ‘24: A Fledgling Journal No More

Welcome to Issue 4 of the Philly Poetry Chapbook Review! We have completed our first volume (3 bimonthly issues) and I’m proud of what’s been published so far. In the months to come, we’ll have more reviews from myself and our contributors, and more featured chapbook poems.

For the month of July, I hope readers enjoy the featured poem “Whenua” by Nicola Andrews from her chapbook Māori Maid Difficult. The book was published in November 2023 and is currently available from Tram Editions. We really enjoy being able to publish great poems along with our critical and editorial content. We’re looking for expanding our poetry in the future. To that end…

We are looking for a Poetry Editor to help us expand our published poetry to excerpts from full-length collections and new poetry. I’m hoping for someone with experience as a reader or editor for a literary magazine. If you or someone you know would be interested in volunteering for this unpaid position, feel free to reach out directly. We’ll be starting to post about widely it in the coming months in the hopes of finding someone by the beginning of 2025.

Keep an eye out this month for a new review from contributor C.M. Crockford. He gave a very positive review of Snake Lore by Jane Morton (Black Lawrence Press).

As always, if you have a poetry chapbook forthcoming from an established small press, or are interested in writing reviews or chapbook author interviews, please check our Submissions page for details.

Thanks for reading, and stay cool,
Aiden Hunt
Creator/Editor
